Superior Flux introduces two fluoride-free brazing paste fluxes, Superior Nos. 650 and 652. These revolutionary new fluxes are specifically formulated to combine effective brazing abilities with the health, safety and environmental benefits of a
fluoride-free system. Superior No. 29 is a fluoride-free liquid brazing flux.
Superior Nos. 650 and 652 are formulated for use with cadmium-free, silver alloy and gold alloy filler metals. They provide excellent brazing characteristics on copper, nickel, precious metal alloys, and select ferrous metals.
Both fluxes are similar in chemistry. However, the Superior No. 650 is more restrictive in its brazing performance, whereas the Superior No. 652 promotes more flow. The suitability of each flux is dependent upon the particular process application and the desired results.
Since these fluxes are fluoride-free, they will not yield hydrofluoric acid (HF) or boron-trifluoride (BF3) gases during the brazing process. This results in far greater safety for mucuos membranes and respiratory systems. Additionally, the fluxes are proven to be safer dermatologically to hands and fingernails.
The fluoride-free advantage offers opportunities to introduce greater workplace and environmental safety for manufacturing plumbing assemblies, jewelry, refrigeration-A/C units, electrical connections, and other products assembled with cadmium-free silver alloy, phos-copper/silver alloys and gold alloy filler metals.

Superior No. 29 is a fluoride-free and VOC-free liquid brazing flux. Excellent for brazing eyeglass frames, jewelry, and precious metal alloys. The flux exhibits strong capillary action, drawing silver filler alloys into narrow joints. It exerts powerful scavenging action on most metal oxides, removing tarnish, scale, and other impurities to yield strong brazed joints.
